In 2006, Mark and Amanda, “college sweethearts” began to dream about starting a church in the San Francisco Bay Area. Growing up in the Midwest, they decided to do something crazy…. leave all they knew behind and follow God out west to start a new chapter of life with a fresh purpose. Their passion is creating community for people to get closer to Jesus.
There is never a dull moment in the McGovern home with their three children: Max, Jack Jones and Maddie, and their Goldendoodle, “Champ”.
Mark & Amanda are worshippers that love seeing people experience the Presence of God. Both of them have a heart to see people become all that they were created to be.
Austin & Mercy Largusa
NORTH BAY LOCATION PASTORS
Austin & Mercy have been married since 2013 and have three sons, Micah, Hendrix (Yes, like Jimi), and Caio. Austin grew up on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, while Mercy’s family was stationed at various military bases around the world. Eventually they both settled in Northern California where they met as teenagers. While dating, they found Experience Church. Now married, they lead the North Bay - Fairfield location.
Serving God and the local church has always been important to Austin and Mercy. They are fueled by their desire to see people live out their purpose & potential, especially when it comes to being an active part of their local neighborhood.
Joy & Kim Saquing
WORSHIP AND CREATIVE PASTORS
Since meeting at Bible college, Joy & Kim have dreamt about being a part of a church in a global city where worship & creativity would flourish. They have served in full-time worship ministry for over 27 years and have three young adult children, Alec, Julien & Bella, all of whom actively serve at Experience Church. Kim also works in tech sector.
They are passionate about empowering the next generation of leaders and long to see a city transformed by the love of Jesus.
Bruno & Thay Freitas
ASSOCIATE PASTORS
Thay and Bruno burn for Jesus. Their Brazilian fire, boldness, and energy are infectious. They share a passion to raise up GenZ into the fullness of their calling and serve as Young Adults Pastors at Experience Church in San Francisco.
Thay serves as Executive Director at Pray The Bay and leads the charge to unite and equip the Bay Area church for Revival, Renewal, and Awakening.

Twenty years ago, PM and Gail followed the call of God to leave their home in Australia and plant a church in San Francisco. In August of 2017, they handed over leadership to Mark & Amanda McGovern. PM & Gail lead a marriage + relationship coaching ministry and love being the "momma & papa" of the house.
After just a few moments with PM & Gail, you will experience their genuine love for people and their passion to help others become all God intended them to be! Experience Church is so grateful for their courageous faith, prayer and wisdom. We adore them!
