“Sola Scriptura” is Latin for “by Scripture alone. The objective of Sola Scriptura is to create a precedent at Experience Church that the scriptures are profitable for all areas of our life. This is symbolic of committing ourselves to the Word, and declaring the entirety of God’s promises and love over our congregation.

We will spend 75 continuous hours reading through every word of the Bible, between both locations. We have an alternating schedule between our San Francisco and North Bay locations. Each location will read for 6 hours at a time.

This will culminate in a night of worship as we finish reading Revelation, and follow the model set before us in the throne room.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What do I read when I get there?

You will receive an email on Friday July 19 with your designated readings based on the time slot you RSVP’d for. This will give you time to read through and practice.

Which translation should I read the Bible in?

We ask that you use one of two translations: English Standard Version (ESV) or New Living Translation (NLT). These two translations offer more direct word for word translation and will allow us to get through our readings at a reasonable time.

What do I do if the next reader doesn’t come and I have to leave?

Mark your completed reading on the reading log, and lock the door using the key in the lockbox. If you’d like to stay and continue reading, you are more than welcomed to until the next reader arrives.

What if I don’t complete my scheduled reading?

Cross out all the sections you finished on the reading log. In the comments section, you can tell us which sections you were unable to complete. We know everyone reads at different paces. There is no condemnation if you are unable to complete the entire reading for your hour.

I read faster in my mind. Can I read silently?

We ask that you read the Word of God aloud. This is a vocal declaration of the living and active Word of God saturating our church.

What if I can’t pronounce someone’s name right?

Surely, God knows what you are trying to read. Just give it a shot. Try Google to say it out loud to you. You will also get your designated reading ahead of time so you can practice before you come.
